The John Deere Z530M 54-Inch Zero-Turn Riding Lawn Mower combines a 24-horsepower V-Twin gasoline engine, dual hydrostatic drive system, and wide 54-inch Accel Deep™ mower deck in a residential ZTrak™ platform designed for efficient mowing of larger lawns.

Power is supplied by a 24 hp / 17.9 kW V-Twin engine. The current Z530M uses a large 726 cc / 44.3 cu. in. displacement engine with an air-cooled design, cast-iron cylinder liners, full-pressure lubrication, and a replaceable oil filter. John Deere notes that published horsepower is supplied by the engine manufacturer for comparison purposes.

The 54-inch configuration uses John Deere’s Accel Deep™ mower deck, a deep, flat-top deck design developed to promote consistent airflow and clipping distribution. The deck supports side discharge as standard and is compatible with an optional MulchControl™ attachment for owners who want additional mowing configurations.

Cutting height can be adjusted from approximately 1 to 4 inches in 0.25-inch increments, while the foot-operated deck-lift system makes it easier to raise the deck when changing mowing height or moving between mowing and transport positions.

The Z530M uses dual hydrostatic transmissions, allowing each drive wheel to be controlled independently through the mower’s two steering levers.
