The Aventon Pace 4 Step-Through Ebike is a comfort-focused electric cruiser designed for neighborhood rides, city streets, bike paths and everyday recreational cycling.

The fourth-generation Pace combines an accessible step-through aluminum frame with a 500W rear-hub motor, a large 733Wh removable battery, hydraulic disc brakes and Aventon’s connected security technology.

Its electrical system is built around a 36V 500W motor producing 60Nm of torque. The motor provides electric assistance for relaxed cruising while retaining enough output for everyday gradients and urban riding.

Aventon rates the Pace 4 for a maximum assisted speed of up to 28 MPH, depending on class configuration and applicable local regulations. The bike ships as a Class 2 ebike and can be configured for Class 3 operation where local rules permit.

Power comes from a removable internal 36V, 20Ah lithium-ion battery with 733Wh of capacity. Aventon uses LG 21700 cells in this battery and rates the Pace 4 for up to 70 miles of range under suitable riding conditions. Actual range varies according to assistance level, speed, terrain, rider and cargo weight, temperature and riding conditions.

One of the Pace 4’s distinctive features is Sensor Switch. Instead of forcing the rider to use only one pedal-sensing behavior, Aventon allows switching between torque-sensor and cadence-sensor riding characteristics.

The torque sensor responds to rider pedal effort for a more proportional assistance feel, while cadence sensing can provide a more relaxed cruising experience. This effectively gives riders two different assist-response styles from one bike.

The Pace 4 also includes Boost Mode. On compatible Aventon ACU-equipped hub-drive bikes, Boost Mode can temporarily provide up to 120% of the specified torque and peak-power level for up to 30 seconds, giving additional assistance when greater short-duration output is needed.

A left-handlebar throttle provides motor assistance without requiring continuous pedaling, subject to the selected bike class and applicable local rules.

Mechanical gearing comes from an 8-speed Shimano Altus drivetrain with a Shimano trigger shifter and 12–32T cassette. Riders can therefore select traditional mechanical gears independently from the electric assistance system.

Stopping performance comes from Tektro hydraulic disc brakes with electrical motor cut-off functionality. Both front and rear wheels use 180mm six-bolt brake rotors.

Comfort remains central to the Pace platform. The bike uses swept-back cruiser-oriented geometry, ergonomic lock-on grips, an Aventon comfort saddle and a 50mm-travel suspension seatpost to help absorb vibration before it reaches the rider.

The Pace 4 rides on 27.5-inch wheels with 27.5″ × 2.1″ tires, balancing rolling efficiency with additional tire volume for urban and recreational riding.

The step-through frame uses 6061 aluminum with a gravity-cast front triangle, helping make mounting and dismounting more accessible than a traditional high-top-tube frame.

The complete bike weighs 58.2 lb, while Aventon specifies a 300-lb total weight limit.

Two frame sizes are offered:

Regular: 4’11″–5’7″ riders
Large: 5’7″–6’1″ riders

Both versions use 27.5-inch wheels and have a low 430mm / approximately 16-inch standover height.

Beyond conventional ebike hardware, Pace 4 incorporates Aventon’s Aventon Control Unit (ACU) platform with connected security and convenience functions such as GPS positioning, 4G communication, E-Lock, unusual activity detection, remote notifications, keyless battery access and over-the-air updates. Warranty Information

Aventon’s current warranty program provides two-year limited coverage for specified electrical components, including the motor, controller, display, charger, sensors and other qualifying electronics.

The original battery is covered for two years or 300 charging cycles, whichever occurs first, under Aventon’s stated battery warranty conditions. Aventon states the battery is designed to retain up to 75% of original capacity during that coverage period.

Aventon also advertises lifetime frame warranty coverage when the qualifying bike is registered, subject to its warranty and registration requirements.
