Product Description
The Peloton Cross Training Bike is Peloton’s current standard connected exercise bike in the Cross Training Series, combining indoor cycling with a redesigned swivel display intended to make transitions from cycling to strength, yoga, Pilates and other off-bike Peloton workouts easier.
This listing is specifically for the standard Cross Training Bike, not the more expensive Cross Training Bike+.
The most important hardware update over Peloton’s older Original Bike is its 21.5-inch Full HD touchscreen with 360 degrees of swivel movement. The display can face the rider during cycling workouts and then rotate away from the bike for compatible floor-based training.
Resistance on this model is controlled manually through the physical resistance knob. The rider increases or decreases the resistance directly instead of relying on automatic instructor-controlled resistance.
That distinction is particularly important because Auto-Resistance is a Bike+ feature and is not included on the standard Cross Training Bike.
Peloton has also redesigned the saddle for the current Cross Training Bike. According to Peloton, the new seat is optimized for more even weight distribution compared with the older Original Series saddle.
Audio comes through front-facing stereo speakers producing 10 watts of total output. Unlike the Cross Training Bike+, the standard Bike does not use Peloton’s Sonos-tuned speaker-and-woofer configuration.
Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.2, while a built-in USB-C port allows compatible personal devices to be charged from the bike.
During cycling workouts, the Peloton platform can display performance information such as:
- Output
- Cadence
- Resistance
- Heart rate when a compatible heart-rate source is connected
Users can connect a compatible heart-rate monitor or use the Peloton Watch App where supported.
Peloton IQ functionality on the standard Cross Training Bike includes software-based personalization such as personalized plans, workout recommendations, performance estimates and insights based on workout history.
However, the standard Bike does not include the Movement-Tracking Camera required for the more advanced form-feedback, rep-tracking and suggested-weight features found on the Cross Training Bike+.
The bike maintains a compact overall footprint, measuring approximately 54 inches long × 23 inches wide × 61 inches high and weighing 129 lb.
Peloton recommends the machine for riders between approximately 4’11” and 6’5″ tall, with a maximum user weight of 297 lb.
The current Cross Training Bike uses aluminum pedals designed for Delta-compatible cleats, so compatible cycling shoes are required for the stock pedal configuration.
For households wanting Peloton cycling plus easier access to off-bike workouts without paying for the additional hardware features of Bike+, the Cross Training Bike provides Peloton’s current standard connected-bike platform with the newer 360-degree swivel display.
