The Zwift Ride with KICKR CORE 2 is an all-in-one smart indoor cycling system combining the adjustable Zwift Ride Smart Frame with Wahoo’s second-generation KICKR CORE smart trainer.

Instead of mounting a conventional outdoor bicycle onto a trainer, the Zwift Ride provides a dedicated indoor frame that remains ready for training. Saddle and handlebar positioning can be adjusted for different riders, while integrated handlebar controllers provide direct access to virtual shifting and Zwift controls.

The current package uses the Wahoo KICKR CORE 2, replacing the original KICKR CORE used in earlier Zwift Ride packages. KICKR CORE 2 adds Wi-Fi connectivity, KICKR Bridge sensor integration, an updated LED status system, Race Mode and redesigned trainer legs while retaining the proven electromagnetic resistance platform.

The trainer provides a maximum output of 1,800 watts with manufacturer-rated ±2% power accuracy. It can automatically change resistance to reproduce virtual gradients up to 16%, allowing climbs in compatible cycling software to feel progressively harder as the road rises.

A major part of the system is virtual shifting. The KICKR CORE 2 arrives with the Zwift Cog V2 preinstalled, while the Zwift Ride’s integrated handlebar controls allow the rider to change virtual gears electronically.

Because resistance changes electronically, the physical chain remains on the same drivetrain position while simulated gearing changes inside the training software. This helps create fast, quiet gear changes without a conventional multi-speed derailleur drivetrain.

The handlebars also provide extensive control over Zwift. Riders can change gears, steer where supported, navigate menus, activate PowerUps, give Ride Ons and perform other supported in-game actions without repeatedly reaching for a phone, keyboard or computer.

KICKR CORE 2 uses electromagnetic resistance paired with a 5.4 kg flywheel to deliver a controlled direct-drive riding experience.

Connectivity has been expanded on KICKR CORE 2. The current trainer supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and ANT+, while multi-color indicator LEDs communicate power, connection and operating status. Speed, cadence, distance and power information can be transmitted wirelessly to compatible software.

KICKR CORE 2 also introduces KICKR Bridge, allowing supported heart-rate monitor data to pass through the trainer to a connected training application. This can simplify setups where available Bluetooth connections are limited.

For riders interested in racing or rapid changes of pace, KICKR Race Mode increases responsiveness to changes in rider output.

The Zwift Ride Smart Frame accommodates riders approximately 152 to 198 cm tall. Saddle height adjusts from approximately 60 to 87 cm, measured from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the saddle.

The complete assembled Zwift Ride with KICKR CORE 2 measures approximately 136 cm long × 60.2 cm wide and weighs approximately 35.4 kg, making it more compact than many conventional outdoor-bike-and-trainer combinations.

Flat pedals are supplied as standard, but the crank arms accept conventional road and mountain-bike pedals for riders who prefer another pedal system.

For multi-user households, a single included Zwift Key tool can be used to adjust the fit of the frame, and the tool stores directly on the bike when not in use.
